Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.
– Proverbs 19:20
Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future. Proverbs 19:20
…a wise man listens to advice. Proverbs 12:15
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
…continue to encourage one another every day… Hebrews 3:13
Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25
The Lord has had me on a long journey of learning over the course of many years. From first-hand experiences, failings and successes to doing deep research and learning driven and guided by the Holy Spirit and the scriptures. I do not claim to have all the answers and plan to continue learning as God shows me more and more until I draw my last breath here on this earth.
How and why we make the decisions we do and what motivates us is like a big puzzle with so many pieces… our own positive and negative experiences as we have lived our lives, how we were raised and brought up, the information we have absorbed over our lifetimes – (both true and false!), our goals and motivations, how God wired our brains to work and sadly the brainwashing and widely-spread propaganda used to manipulate and control us. All these factors play a part in how we live our lives and the many decisions we make each day that affect our lives, our family’s lives and our future – for better or for worse!
Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. 1 Thessalonians 5:23
God designed and created us as 3-part beings… mind, body and soul… and they need to operate as a cohesive team to function at our best. If you truly want something with all your heart, but your brain is not on the same page – it is almost impossible succeed in your goal!
To add to my learning on natural health, I felt led to take a course in Self-Sabotage and Lifestyle Coaching. In other words – why we do the things we do or as Paul put it –“For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.” Romans 7:15 It does no good what-so-ever to have all the truth and knowledge in the world if you don’t use and implement it! We all have wonderful goals, aspirations and great intentions – why can we not seem to carry them through? Why do we struggle with this? Have you ever made New Year’s resolutions only to give them up by the 3rd week in January? Are you a member of a gym but never go? Do you have a shelf full of healthy cookbooks but don’t use them? Do you have exercise equipment in your home that is currently used for a clothes rack? I get it! I have been there! Through this course, I learned how our past shapes our future decisions, how God wired our brains for survival and how the media combined with the food and medical industries, etc, have hi-jacked this same information and use it to actually work against you!! But best of all, I learned how to get past all that, turn things around and re-train your brain and your thinking so you will be able to meet your goals and be successful in life and in your health!
Much of this information will astound and amaze you! But once you recognize how the deck is stacked against you… it is easy to reshuffle and deal yourself a winning hand! We will be offering group coaching sessions where we can have fun encouraging and learning from each other as well as one-on-one coaching opportunities.
