Journey to Belize

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails. – Proverbs 19:21

Belize Plans

Since moving to Belize was TOTALLY God’s idea and plan for our family, we are sure he has things in mind for us to do now that we have finally made it here. While he has not revealed all of his plans to us as yet, we do believe he has been giving us ideas and images over the past several years of things to come and we are working daily on achieving all that He has planned here for us to serve and help others and share His amazing love, grace and healing with others.

Biblically-Based Health Retreat

A beautiful and relaxing place where people can come and stay on the farm with us to relax, enjoy God’s marvelous creation while they detox and learn more about God’s design for us to be healthy. As close to EDEN as we can possibly make it! Some things we will would plan to offer there would be:

Besides the Health Center, other ministries we plan to look into include:

Deaf Ministries

As you may have read, due to vaccines he received at the age of 2 years old at his WELL-child visit to the pediatrician, our son is hearing impaired. He is totally deaf in one ear and has a severe hearing loss in the other. I don’t believe it is a coincidence that God has already brought 2 families into our lives with children with hearing impairments in Belize as well as being in close proximity to the only deaf school in the country. I believe we will be doing some ministry in this area. Maybe we will take horses over for them to enjoy. 😊

Local Ministry

Working with local people and churches to share God’s love to the local people through various projects.

Through visiting church groups – we are hoping we can set up a bunk-house type of arrangement so small groups can come and stay with us and then work with local churches to be of service to minister to local people through building projects, working with children, elderly, handicapped, etc.

Wedding Venue & Honeymoon Tree House

A complete wedding package where small wedding groups can come and have a beautiful, picturesque wedding over-looking the river surrounded by wild jungle flora and fauna. Maybe the beautiful Blue Morpho Butterflies will make an appearance and the howler monkeys will even sing a chorus for our guests! 😊 After the ceremony the wedding party can celebrate with delicious local food, music and dancing under our thatch-roofed palapa gathering area over-looking our small lake. And then the new couple can retire to a romantic Eden-inspired jungle cottage or even a treehouse. Photography and video services will be available as well.

Organic Gardens & Permaculture Forest Jungle

A place where we can grow as many of God’s wonderful food and medicinal plants and beautiful flowers as we possibly can! Picture walking through the jungle and grabbing fresh ripe fruit off and eating it on the spot! The sights and sounds will fill your senses with wonder of God and his creation!

Organic Health & Beauty Products

All sorts of products from toothpaste and deodorant to natural herbal remedies and supplements produced on site with our own organically grown or harvested natural plants, herbs and jungle flowers…. Good for you, your skin and refreshing to your soul!

Belize Video / Photography / Travel Blog

Trevor plans to make good use of his drone and photo-editing skills to share the beauty and natural wonders of Belize along with fun and helpful information.

Wild Life Rescue

God has given us an immense love and appreciation for his creation and that goes double for his animals. Even before Louis and I were married, we were rescuing injured and orphaned animals. Trevor and I have both taken courses in wildlife rescue techniques to have better knowledge to assist our wild animal friends in need. We hope to be able to work with the wildlife rescue groups in Belize to offer any assistance that we can to help wild animals in need. Belize has a wonderful zoo and many wild animals that have been rescued but cannot be released back into the wild find homes at the zoo and Trevor has expressed interest in doing some volunteer work there as well.

Animal Welfare & Health Education

Along the same lines, the domestic animals in Belize are also sometimes in need of care and rescue. Belize has a wonderful group of people who work and volunteer with the local humane organizations, so we might endeavor to work with them as well when we have the opportunity. We hope to possibly have some seminars on horse health and care and we have already enlisted a natural horse vet from the US to come down and assist us in that project!

Prison Ministry

There is one central prison in Belize that is not too far from where we will be located. We have stopped by there before because they have a wonderful little craft shop there where the inmates make crafts and even some furniture and it is offered for sale. If the Lord would have us get involved in some sort of ministry there – we be happy to serve in that capacity. Who knows… maybe they can start a prison horse ministry there like the many that have been so successful here in the USA. 😊

Jungle Cowboy Church

I think the Lord has already been working on this project as Louis has taught a series of Sunday school lessons using his work with and training our wild mustang stallion Piya. He also previously took our macaw Tobias into the Sunday school for a class he was teaching. Tobias was a colorful and enthusiastic visual aid for his lesson! As well as making recoding these and having them available on-line, these might be the sort of thing we take on the road in Belize to church groups, the deaf school, orphanage and the prison, etc… we’ll see where God leads us! 😊

So, there are lots of options and opportunities ahead of us – even more than we have listed here… we’ll see where the Lord leads us! We are just excited to follow Him – wherever He leads!

We hope some of you will travel down to visit and be a part of various ministries we will be offering and be involved in. If you can’t make the trip – you can still support us in other ways such as with prayer, sharing with others and financial support… just check out our support page for more information.

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

May you bear much fruit wherever God has you planted!

In HIS abundant and sufficient love,
